This past week Markets (S&P500) were up slightly, and are now up just over 12% for the year.

Markets are near all time high's and tomorrow the latest inflation numbers will be announced tomorrow at 8:30am, I'll be on Fox Business Varney & Co at 11am to discuss.

One statistic we reference often is Job Opening and Labor Turnover Survey or the JOLTS number. The Labor Department's JOLTS report tracks the monthly change in job openings and offers rates on hiring and quits. The reporting period lags other employment data including the employment situation report.

This number reached an absolute all time high yesterday, 9.3 million. This is shown in the chart below. There are just over 16mm people getting some form of government unemployment assistance but with the enhanced unemployment schedule to end in September expect both of these numbers to drop dramatically. This is significant because it shows just how fast our economy is getting back to full steam ahead post pandemic.
